Israeli attacks.

I'm appalled at the loss of life, injury and destruction of property that is being caused by this attack in the Gaza Strip by Israel.
What most people are hearing is about the civilian toll that this attack has taken. Actually, the carnage is directed at Hamas. What you're not told is that there was a cease-fire declared (so that Hamas could enlarge it's numbers and arms) between Hamas and Israel.
Hamas was originally formed many years ago to fight the "so called" Palestinians. After the Palestinians were recognized as a people by the rest of the world, Hamas infiltrated them and has become their government (1996).
Since the takeover of the Palestinian people by Hamas, they have declared war on Israel.
Most of the world has helped negotiate a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel. However, as in true muslim tradition, since muslims are not bound by their agreements (read the koran), rockets have been launched into Israel during this cease-fire period. This has continued on an almost daily basis.
Well, as anyone would do after being constantly bombed by another, Israel finally decided to eliminate the launch sites for these rockets as well as the Hamas leaders and other members.
The Arab nations (and France) are screaming that this attack is unjust. Of course they would...it's perfectly alright for them to launch rockets into Israel but it's not right for Israel to defend itself.
The leaders of Israel have been negotiating in good faith in order to have peace for both sides. Obviously, talking doesn't work, but bullets and bombs do.
Since the muslim culture teaches that you never have to tell the truth unless there's something to gain; how naive of Israel to make any agreements with muslim states. What are the Israelis thinking ? Do they believe that they can negotiate peace ? History has proven that once they conquer a territory, peace gets established. In 1967, Israel conquered the Gaza Strip from the Egyptians and in 1994, as part of the negotiations for peace, gave it to the Palestinians. In 1996, Hamas came into power and has been harassing Israel ever since with constant rocket launches and suicide bombers.
Israel has finally said, "Enough is enough..." and is dealing with this situation in the only way that muslims understand; violence.
Arabs and Jews (both being Semitic) have co-existed from their beginnings until the cult of islam was established. Since then, muslims have become the enemy of all other religions and specifically Jews and Christians. It's hard to understand how people from the same origins (Abraham) could become so divided. But like any other cult, islam doesn't have to be rational or make sense, thus creating the problems in our world today. Muslims are killing people all over the world and little is being done about it because the larger muslim countries have oil. Since the rest of the world needs their oil, everyone is afraid of upsetting the Arab world and so they are allowed to commit their crimes against other peoples.
Israel is the only country willing to stand up against this rediculous, vicious and untrustworthy group. When the oil runs out in the middle east (several years from now), the Arab nations will then be ignored unless they continue with their aggressions. If they do so then, they will be attacked by everyone else.
In the meantime, the Arab-Israeli conflict continues with the press only giving the muslim point of view (which is either very biased or outright lies). There is no need for all this destruction and bloodshed. Once islam is erradicted from this planet, this situation (and others such as Dafur) will no longer be a problem. Yes, I'm biased against islam because I've read the koran (several times) and understand how that cult thinks. The muslims are determined to take over the world (they've already made great inroads into modern nations such as France and England and will take over Europe in your lifetime. Be careful of your liberal point of view or you could become sympathic with them and be overrun too.

Auto indusrty bailout...

I can't believe how crazy everyone is.
First of all, any company (regardless of how big) that continues to lose money because of it being run inefficiently should be allowed to fail. If they want to "rethink" how they're doing business, there are bankruptcy laws that are available to them. Bankruptcy would allow the "big three" to not only restructure but to get out of the burdensome union contracts that are costing them more than they can make.
Second of all, how dare our federal gov't. use our (taxpayers) money to put billions of dollars into the incompetent CEO's pockets ?
On the other hand, let's see what really is happening. This isn't a bailout of the companies...this is a bailout of the UAW (United Auto Workers). Today, the bailout would have taken place except for this fact. When the Senate said that they would approve the bailout if the auto companies would roll back the salaries of its workers and management to match that of Toyota and Honda (in this country), the UAW screamed that they would not.
...and to make matters worse, Pres. Bush has said that he'll make an executive order giving the auto makers $17 billion of our money.
Don't get me wrong. I know the purpose of unions and see their need. However, if one were to read the UAW contract, they'd wonder how any management, anywhere could have agreed to its terms. The main purpose of union contracts are to insure that management can't take undo advantage of its workforce, not to let the workers take control of the company's profits.
I know that I can start a business, pay my workers unreasonably high wages, pay those that there is no work for, give them all huge benefits and produce a product that no one wants. If I do this, will the gov't. give me more money to continue ? If that's the new business model, then let's all get started before the gov't. runs out of money. I'm going to manufacture electric toilet plungers that use digital technology and sell them for $500 each. After a month of no sales and paying my employees $100/ hr. (whether they show up or not), I'll then go to Washington and plead for billions of dollars to stay in business. When they give me the money, I'll buy myself a yacht and a jet plane to park at the property that I'll buy in the Bahamas. Join me in this ridiculous venture......
